Hollywood Municipal Court
The Hollywood Municipal Court handles all types of misdemeanor and traffic cases that occur in the incorporated city limits and the police jurisdiction of the Town of Hollywood. Typically court is held the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am. The presiding Judge of the town of Hollywood is the Honorable Judge Larry Ward. Judge Ward has been the Judge at Hollywood for over 30 years and he currently holds the record as being the longest presiding municipal judge at any one court in Alabama, and he holds this record because of his time at Hollywood.

Hollywood Clerk Susanne York Holland was born in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Within the first year of her life her family moved back to their home town of Ider, Alabama. She graduated from Ider High school in 1994 and received a partial scholarship to Northeast Community College. She worked full time and attended college full time to earn her degree in Business Administration. She graduated in 1996 with honors of Summa Cum Laude and member of Phi Theta Kappa. Upon graduating she was hired by the State of Alabama Department of Public Health in Women, Infant and Children (WIC) nutritional assistance program where she served for over two years. She then accepted a job offer from Dekalb Baptist Medical Center and the inpatient unit clerk.
Susanne was hired by the Town of Hollywood in June of 2000 as the main dispatcher for the Hollywood Police and Fire Departments. Within the first two years, she began to assist in the municipal court. On August 2 2002, she took the Municipal Court Clerk Oath of Office administered by Judge Larry Ward and was appointed as court magistrate for Town of Hollywood. She immediately began her three year certification program. On August 17 2005 she graduated from the University of Alabama College of Continuing Studies and earned her certification as Municipal Court Clerk/Magistrate for the State of Alabama. Upon completing her certification she was awarded the title of court clerk. She also assisted the town clerk with duties necessary for the operation of the town on a daily basis. Upon the retirement of the Town Clerk in November 2009, Susanne served the town not only as court clerk and magistrate but was also acting as the town clerk. On April 13, 2010 she took the oath of office, administered again by Judge Larry Ward and was appointed by the Town Council as Hollywood Municipal Clerk.She currently presides as the court clerk/magistrate and the town clerk for Hollywood. She is a member of the Alabama Municipal Court Clerks and Magistrates Association, Alabama Municipal Clerks Association and the Jackson County Clerks Association. Through the years she has contributed her time to the town, police and fire departments by assisting in fund raisers, community events, fall festivals, and other areas where she can be of service. She resides in Ider Alabama with her son Kaleb. She stays active in her son's cub scout events and is a member of the Five Points Baptist Church where she assist in the Sunday School Program.
